Welcome to the Relationships in Environment & Design Laboratory (REDLab). Founded in 2022 by Dr. Jessica Fernandez, our lab is dedicated to advancing research that enhances the benefits humans receive from their surrounding landscapes. We focus on improving health and quality of life by deepening our understanding of outdoor built environments and making these spaces more beneficial and desirable in campuses, urban areas, and beyond.
At REDLab, we facilitate cross-disciplinary investigations, emphasizing design research to uncover the intricate connections between people and their environments. Our team, along with our collaborators, leverage advanced technologies like virtual reality, augmented reality, and big data to explore these relationships, all with the goal of creating spaces that truly enrich human life.
