REDLab’s Aisha Iyengar wins CELA Research Award

We are thrilled to announce that Aisha Iyengar, a Master of Urban Planning and Design student at UGA's REDLab, has been honored with the Student Research Award from the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA) for 2024!

Aisha's award-winning research centers on using virtual reality to explore how anthropocentric stimuli affect perceptions of streetscape design. Her innovative approach and groundbreaking findings have earned her the sole student research award among 13 recipients who were recognized for excellence in teaching, research, creativity, and design innovation.

Reflecting on her achievement, Aisha shared, "Going through the process of my research study has allowed me to discover a passion for research and emerging technologies within landscape architecture. I hope to continue to incorporate these research practices within my career and use this experimental study as the basis for future work."

Aisha presented her research at the 2024 CELA Annual Conference in St. Louis, Missouri. This fall she will begin her Master of Landscape Architecture degree at Harvard University.

Congratulations, Aisha!
